The CBSE Class 10 Hindi Course A syllabus for the academic session 2025-2026 is designed to enhance linguistic skills, literary appreciation, and creative expression. The assessment is divided into a Theory Paper (80 Marks) and Internal Assessment (20 Marks).
1. Course Structure (Theory - 80 Marks)

2. Detailed Section-wise Breakdown
Section A: Unseen Comprehension (14 Marks)
Unseen Prose (गद्यांश): One passage of approximately $250$ words. (7 Marks)
Unseen Poetry (काव्यांश): One poem of approximately $120$ words. (7 Marks)
Questions will be a mix of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and short-answer types to test interpretation and vocabulary.
Section B: Applied Grammar (16 Marks)
Questions will be based on the following topics (usually 4 questions each, 1 mark each):
Vakya Bhed (वाक्य भेद): Types of sentences based on structure (Simple, Compound, Complex). ($4$ Marks)
Vachya (वाच्य): Active, Passive, and Impersonal voice (कर्तृवाच्य, कर्मवाच्य, भाववाच्य). (4 Marks)
Pad Parichay (पद परिचय): Morphological analysis of words in a sentence. (4 Marks)
Alankar (अलंकार): Specifically Shlesh (श्लेष), Utpreksha (उत्प्रेक्षा), Atishayokti (अतिशयोक्ति), and Manavikaran (मानवीकरण). (4 Marks)
Section C: Literature (30 Marks)
This section covers questions from the prescribed NCERT textbooks.
Kshitij Part-2 (क्षितिज भाग-2):
Prose Section: MCQs and descriptive questions based on chapters. (11 Marks)
Poetry Section: MCQs and descriptive questions based on poems. (11 Marks)
Kritika Part-2 (कृतिका भाग-2):
Long answer questions (approx. $40-60$ words) based on the supplementary reader. (8 Marks)
Section D: Creative Writing (20 Marks)
Paragraph Writing (अनुच्छेद लेखन): Based on contemporary or value-based topics ($120$ words). (6 Marks)
Letter Writing (पत्र लेखन): Formal or Informal letter (100 words). (5 Marks)
Resume/E-mail Writing: Swavritt Lekhan (Resume) or E-mail writing (80 words). (5 Marks)
Notice/Message Writing: Vigyapan (Advertisement) or Sandesh Lekhan (40 words). (4 Marks)

The following chapters have been removed and are not part of the 2025-2026 syllabus:
Kshitij (Poetry): Dev (Savaiya & Kavitt), Girija Kumar Mathur (Chhaya Mat Churna), Rituraj (Kanyadan).
Kshitij (Prose): Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi (Stree-Shiksha ke Virodhi...), Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena (Manavi Karuna ki Divya Chamak).
Kritika: George Pancham ki Naak, Ehi Thaiya Jhulni Herani ho Rama!.
5. Internal Assessment (20 Marks)
